Whether you’re a resident of London or visiting from other parts of the UK or the world, there are a lot of things to do in London. So many that it would likely take days to read the many options, so I have thrown together just a snapshot of ideas for your consideration. And don’t worry if you’re visiting by car; there are plenty of ways to find a Car Park in London. Or, if you’re getting the train, there are a few stations you can arrive at, such as Euston and King’s Cross.
1.London parks
London boasts several great parks to visit, such as St. James’ Park, Hyde Park, Regent’s Park and Greenwich Park (among others). And if you’re visiting in the autumn, you’ll be able to view the leaves turning from their summer greens to the more autumnal oranges and reds. Tread down the leafy paths and escape from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
2. Museums
There are a few that might tickle your fancy; there is, of course, the British Museum, the National History Museum and the Science Museum. There are others, but these are just a few listed that might allow you a few hours of entertainment apiece. London is the capital city of England and with that comes a great deal of history and art, a lot of which you can find in these museums. You can expect to find a great deal of fascinating facts and artefacts from history in these museums.
3. Afternoon tea on a double-decker bus
Are you after something a little bit different and aren’t sure what that could be? If you like afternoon tea and fancy seeing the sights, then why not combine them into one exciting trip! You will be seated on a nicely decorated red double-decker bus and spend the next ninety minutes seeing the sights in London. You will be treated to a lovely mix of sweet and savoury treats. To top it off? You can indulge in a glass of prosecco while you enjoy your time aboard.
4. After something a little more traditional?
Why not visit the classics? The Tower of London, Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament. Oh and let’s not forget Buckingham Palace. While some people like to seek out the more niche things to see within the city, others will love the famous attractions such as these. You can’t really go wrong, either, as visitors are coming time and time again, which wouldn’t happen if these places weren’t interesting sights!
Final thoughts
There is a lot to take in when visiting London and sometimes it can be a bit tricky to navigate by car. If you’re close to the area, why not consider Parking at Haywards Heath Station or similar before travelling to London via train? A lot of commuters are already doing this to work in the city and it means that, without the responsibility of driving, you might be able to have a cheeky prosecco while you’re in London.
